Gainesville Birth Photographer | Meet Mary Rose!

I love Photography!

The families I meet and the occasions they share with me are sometimes Heart Stopping.  This session with Robby and Megan was one of those.

After being on call… as the photographer for a week, Megan and I were discussing my schedule on the phone.  I hoped to be with them at the birth of their 4th child, but due to sessions I had to do the following day, I might miss it……  We both prayed that if I was meant to be there, Mary Rose would come that day or wait a day and a half.  Megan, as all Mom’s would that are 9+ months preggo, prayed vervently for that day.  Within 2 hours, she called me back and had experienced 3 real contractions, “Take your breath away contractions!” said Megan.  We texted back and fourth over the next hour and I was told to meet her at the Birthing Center in 45 minutes.

I believe I was more prepared for this delivery than any of my own kiddos births.  Gas was in the car, clothing ready, snack packed, batteries charged, CF Cards cleared and prayers prayed!  I arrived before the family and loved having the chance to capture them as they arrived.

The whole family was there until Mom had their newest Little to take home, thats the beauty of the birthing center.  They have a home setup and the kids made themselves at home in the living room.  Robby Jr., Jane and Lena were excited!

Mom was very quiet during a contraction and you will see many more images of her in the above position!

Checking Mary Rose’s heart beat through a contraction…

Small walk on the veranda, and another contraction…

Enjoying memories!

After being at the Birthing Center for an hour and a half, Megan asked to get into the water bath. The iPod, helped her to focus and work through the contractions.

Quite a Team….

At 8:39 pm Mary Rose was born, heart pounding Miracle that I was blessed to witness!

I can’t tell you how strong, quiet and calm Megan was during the delivery.  I also can’t believe within 2 hours of my arrival, Mary Rose was born!  Such an amazing moment when a family meets a new little soul, that was given to them to raise and cherish! More to come as her newborn session is soon to follow!
