“Newborn images, it can’t be that tough, we all know that babies sleep all of the time!” There is truth in every assumption, babies do sleep a lot right after birth. Waking only for food or a change of clothing, sounds right unless you are the sleep deprived new mom, lol. Little creatures of habit, just as we are, start adjusting to their environment, like being still while sleeping fairly quickly. When taking their images, we are moving them constantly, changing the backdrop, their position and the finer details of adjusting their hands and fingers. There are many tweaks to perfect an image, any one of those movements can startle your baby and the pose will need to be restarted, putting the session on hold. That’s why it’s so important to find a photographer who has experience specifically with newborns. An experienced newborn photographer can change, dress, pose, and photograph your little one, all while keeping them comfortable and safe. We can read your babies subtle cues, that tell us if the position they are in is something they will or will not tolerate. They let us know if they need food to really settle, or if they are about to give us one of those precious newborn smiles. When looking for someone to capture timeless images of your little miracle, experience, patience and a joy for little ones will give you a gallery of images that you will treasure.
