I’m not sure how certain colors became commonly used with baby boys vs. baby girl photos. When I think of soft baby blue I do consider that color for a little boy, usually….. I used soft blue, lavender, and pale rose in my daughters nursery, so I was using it against the norm with my little one and loved it. My favorite prop vendor, Ivy and Nell Baby is located in England. The owner and designer Emma, is willing to create for me often and her work is very fresh. They normally are feminine without taking over the image. Emma offered a soft powder blue Forget-Me-Not floral hair tie in her Spring collection, that was so delicate it made me want to have a whole session wrapped around that one little accessory.
When Laney’s father contacted me about capturing their baby girl photos and he said they would like to use blue…. I smiled!
So, today I’m featuring little Laney all wrapped in blue… enjoy… and forget her not!!
Neutral tones and soft pastels allow the creamy skin of your newborn to be the focus. The tiny hair tie accessories never let us forget she is a girl.
I love using colors that will look great in any room, for my families. Before your session, I ask for the neutral colors used in your living spaces and one color from the babies nursery.
